kitty-cat catch-up

Back in December, I was doing well keeping pace with Elizabeth Hartman’s Cat Quilt-Along–until my college kids came home. Their company and accompanying holiday fun derailed my block-a-day plans–that’s ok.

I’m back at it. Here are Victor, Boogie, Amelia, Max, Violet and Maslow (x 2). Only three more to go!

  2. Great-looking kitties!

  3. Totally off topic…is there a way to repair a broken thread on a needlepoint canvas?

    • Oh gosh–not that I know of, but there’s got to be. Here’s an idea: If it’s a single thread and you haven’t needlepointed around that spot yet, I could see taking a thread off the edge of the canvas, cut longer than the break, laying it in place over the broken spot, and needlepointing over it that way, catching and covering the ends on both sides with floss. You would be creating a kind of sister joist with a strand of canvas. Does that make sense? I don’t know if it’d work, but it’s worth a try. What you might do first is visit the Needlepoint Clubhouse in Creve Coeur and talk to Judy Harper–she’s their resident master teacher and so nice and helpful.

  4. Sometimes it takes me so long to get back on track after a interruption/derailment. I hope your pause in blogging and sewing is just a hiccup in the life, and that nothing serious has happened! I love reading your blog.

    Take care–
    Elizabeth
